The Cell Count command provides an efficient, quick overview of your grid statistics in terms of cell counts. The panel contains a table that shows how many cells of each type, the total number of cells and the total number of points in all blocks of the grid. When the CAE dimension is set to 2D, the table will show totals for triangles and quadrilaterals instead.
In addition to showing the cell counts for the entire grid (right column), the Cell Counts command also shows the counts for the current selection (middle column). This is helpful if you need to know statistics about a subset of your mesh, for instance, the number of cells in just the surface mesh.
Note: Collapsed quadrilateral cells are reported as triangles in both the Cell Count command and the Cell Type examine metric. This is because each CAE solver may handle these cells differently depending on whether it supports structured, unstructured, or hybrid meshing. If your CAE solver supports fully structured export, these cells will be exported as quadrilaterals, not triangles.
